Pokhran firing range in Rajasthan become famous after India's nuclear tests, code-named 'Smiling Buddha' in 1974 and the 'Shakti" series in 1998. It is the largest practices and test firing range in India. On march 18, Indian Air Force (IAF) put up its greatest ever show of air power. The event earlier called 'vayu shakti' got its current name 'Iron Fist ' when last held in 2013. the exercise logo shows an Iron Fist was aimed at showcasing the operational strength of a transforming IAF and assuring the nation that the safety of its sovereign skies lies in very capable hands.

Government has decided to give a new to the scheme for building bridges and rail over bridges and rail over bridges (ROBs) on national highways. Under the "Setu Bharatam" scheme the road transport and highways ministry will undertake constrution of ROBs and bridges for seamless connectivity. Setu Bharatam project aims to make all national highways free of railway crossing by 2019. The Union Road, Transport and highways Ministry plans To develop road over bridges and underpasses would be built in the first phase.
